NSW STATE GOVERNMENT REVISES APIC POLICY MANDATING CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES MORE EFFECTIVELY ENGAGE INDIGENOUS BUSINESSES
Revisions to the NSW Government's Aboriginal Particpation in Construction policy (APIC) mandate construction companies contracted to do NSW state funded projects (such as schools and hospitals) to better engage with indigenous owned Supply Nation Certified businesses and to more regularly report their progress to the government. APIC was developed in 2016 and mandates that a minimum of 1.5% of the project spend on relevant NSW construction contracts to be dedicated to indigenous businesses. DCL welcome this development and as an indigenous owned and Supply Nation Certfiied business (meaning 51% or more inidgenous owned) we look forward to engaging more with construction companies contracted to NSW state funded projects.
